International conference “Islamic solidarity in the example of Uzbek-Azerbaijani friendship” was held in Tashkent, on the 18th of October.

Members of government and parliament, well-known scientific and religious figures of the two countries, as well as scientific and religious figures from foreign countries participated in the conference organized by Caucasian Muslims Board, State Committee on Work with Religiuous Organizations, Comittee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan and Uzbek Musliims Office.

After appeals of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan and Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan were read to the participants, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazadeh delivered a speech and stated that, this conference held in Tashkent served as a proof of adherence of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to the ideas of Islamic solidarity as well as tradition of intercultural dialogue. Sheikhulislam stated that, members of various nations lived as a family in Tashkent, Samargand and Bukhara. “Like many religious representatives, my destiny is also closely related with Uzbekistan, her nation and wonderful traditions of this land. We are grateful to Uzbek nation fort his”, he stated.

A communique was adopted at the end of the conference.
